Teaser Tuesday

Yawn, I'm up too early. This is what I get for watching The Stand until late last night. I'm watching post-apoc movies for inspiration for my new series, so if you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Watched The Road with Viggo Mortensen too; that was one depressing movie, and I Am Legend is on deck as well.

Anyway, I guess I'll post today's Teaser Tuesday while I'm up. Let's do one with both Ash and Puck this week.

“Looks like nobody’s home,” Puck said, turning in a slow circle. “Hellooooooooo? Anybody here?”

“Be quiet, Goodfellow,” Ash growled, peering into the shadows with narrowed eyes. “We’re not alone.”

“Yeah? How do you figure that, prince? I don’t see anyone.”

“The cait sith has disappeared.”

“ … Crap.”

Hmm, who could they be talking about? Lol, as if there was any doubt. Until next week...

  12. Thanks for the teasers--I love this series; there's something about it that just sticks with a person. So...thanks for writing it. ;-)

Post-apocalyptic...hmmm, I'm not much on the movies unless it's to do with zombies (eek!) and then any of those will do for me, though Zombieland is my favorite--you gotta keep a sense of humor at the end of the world, eh?

If you're looking for books, however, I can't recommend strongly enough Robert McCammon's Swan Song. An epic on the level of King's The Stand and just as good.

  13. Two good post-apocalyptic movies are 12 Monkeys and Waterworld.

Love your books, thanks for the teasers!!

  14. Well, a great post-apocalyptic story to watch would be the animated 1977 film Wizards, though to be honest I sort of drew upon that film when imagining the what went on in the lands of iron in the first book. The Dark Crystal is also about a dark, and dying magical land, one very different from a blasted wasteland, but the feel of it is perfect for any dying fairy, fairy tail.

Hmm... Their's also the so-bad-it's-not-good-but-has-gone-on-all-the-way-to-utterly-bizare Tank Girl, and from my vague memories of it, it was quite wimsical in it's own way. Ah...

For books, Lord of Light is about a civilization coming out of a total loss of knowledge and the servivors setting themselves up as gods over their decendents. It's not truely post-apocalyptic though, but their are moments..
