Teaser Tuesday and a brush with malicious plants

A somewhat late Teaser Tuesday.

So a couple days ago I was out working in the yard, and as I was picking up pine cones from beneath the trees, I happened to look around and discovered I was surrounded by poison ivy.

Not that Poison Ivy.

This poison ivy.

I got out of there quick, and thought I had avoided contact with any of the plants.

Unfortunately not.

Yesterday morning I woke up with my left eye swollen completely shut. Which made it very difficult to write, edit, tweet, or anything involving the use of one's eyes. I spent the day in bed hugging a box of Benedryl.

Today its a little better, though I still look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, or that guy from Goonies. (Remember him?) But, it is Tuesday, and neither rain nor sleet nor sadistic vegetation will keep me from posting.

So, here's today's teaser. Its short, but its all I can manage today. Now, back under the covers I go, to dream of taking a machete to the vines beneath the pine trees. *Whack whack*

"Having second thoughts?" Puck's voice was soft and dangerous, a far cry from his normal flippancy. "I thought we'd put this behind us for now."

  24. If I was discussing The Iron Fey with someone, and we were talking about the first time Meghan ever sees Ash, and they asked me--with Harry's inflections--"Did you know, then?", unlike Dumbledore, I would say, "Yes."

  25. LOOOVVVVEEEEE. Ponies are hilarious. In my computer class we're in groups of four and we're supposed to be picking team names that are trees, so I'm trying to persuade everyone in my group to be "Team Ash." Sucks that the only other person on campus who will understand why that name makes me smile so much is my twin sister....I read the books out loud to her. She has NEVER read the books herself. She doesn't even know the page placement of the line in The Iron King, page 178, "I'll kill you." *obvious horror* Did you know you have a thing with eights? King, 178, "I'll kill you." Queen, 128, "Will you be my knight?" Queen, 148, "You. You became her knight, didn't you? You swore the oath. Foolish, foolish boy." (No, I didn't write this down and I don't have the books with me. This is just some insane thing i do when I LOVE a book: memorize+quote.) Also, chapter 22s: King--Ash's Final Stand, Daughter--Ironhorse's Choice, Queen--The Last Night. Do you *plan* these things?!?!
