Some early reviews

Hi all!

Halfway done with NaNo, and finally over the Week 2 Hump, where it seems your plot is floundering, your characters are completely lame, and you have so much better things to do then type another 1700 words--like laundry or dishes or scheduling a root canal.

But now Week 3 beckons, so onward we go!

Also, since The Iron Queen hit Netgalley earlier this week, I wanted to share some early reviews. Some of these may contain minor spoilers, so if you don't want to know anything about Iron Queen, I would refrain from reading. And a huge, huge THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to read and post. Seriously, you're the best. :)

P.S: If you're a blogger or a reviewer and want a copy of The Iron Queen, check out Netgalley to request an egalley.

  1. So excited! Do you know if Harlequin Teen is giving away ARCs, for those of us who can't use Netgalley?

  2. Hey Riv! I think they're mostly using Netgalley, but you could probably ask them. @HarlequinTeen is on Twitter. :)

  3. Julie, I am 3/4 of the way done, and I CANNOT put it down (except to check your blog of awesomeness)! I've been reading all afternoon without a break because I am so immersed in your world that I cannot stop reading until I know how it ends. Congratulations on another AMAZING novel! The romance and action are so intense, and I'm completely riveted to my screen. You have out done yourself!

Definitely epic...everything I was hoping for and much, much more! I cannot wait to write a review.

  5. I'm sorry, but I don't know what exactly is a egalley?
    I never have used Netgalley.

  6. Hey Julie --

    Two thoughts.

First, NaNo. I'm at around 23K. (YAY.) I actually DID get a root canal this weekend, but the Vicodin helped me on a 6K writing jag...so, while I don't recommend it.... lol.

Two, my review of THE IRON QUEEN is coming in December. Heads up, I loved it. (And, yes, it'll be spoiler free.)

  7. @Gemma: Thank you! I'm so happy you're enjoying it!

@CarloZ: An egalley is a digital ARC that can be downloaded to your computer or Nook or electronic reading device. Netgalley is a site where you can request eARCs from the publisher.

@Chelsea: I can't wait!!! (Also: root canal? *shudder*)

  8. Julie,

I cannot remember the last time I cried reading a book. It was probably when I was 12 and Beth died in Little Women. Not only did you having me crying, I was seriously WEEPING. Tears were streaming down my face. My husband was giving me the "book girl's gone crazy again" look. Your books just smolder and radiate with emotion!

  9. I haven't read it yet, but I hope she doesn't end up with Ash..... after a while, the whole"dark, brooding, and mysterious" guy falls in love with good girl---well, let me just say it gets extremely cliche and boring. What happened to the whole "I can trust in Puck" thing from the first book? Oh well... I just hope she writes a book from Puck's point of view....
