I got the "I missed BEA" blues.

Le sigh.

Well, BEA is over, and I'm almost glad in a horrible selfish way, because it means I won't have to see all the BEA tweets on Twitter anymore and be consumed by the terrible Green-Eyed Monster.

I MUST, somehow, come hell or high water, get to BEA next year or I will turn into a slobbering crazy person (or people in ninja suits will come kidnap me, or so I've been threatened).

In other random news, I've been consumed with a new game lately: Red Dead Redemption, which has sort of eased the pain of missing BEA. I've never been much of a cowboy fan, but let me tell you, I'm having a a blast galloping around the sandbox world of New Austin, hunting wanted men, shooting bandits while driving a stagecoach, and lassoing wild horses.

Also, WINTER'S PASSAGE is only a few short days from release (YAY!), and will be available for download at Amazon.com, eharlequin.com, and enterthefaeryworld.com. Don't be alarmed by the 2.99 price you might see; Harlequin has assured me it WILL be free, at least until August when The Iron Daughter hits shelves.

I think that's everything for now. For those of you who went to BEA, how was it? Did you get all the books you wanted? Did your arms fall off trying to carry them home? Who were you most excited to meet? I know I would've loved to see Neil Gaiman (my author hero), Maria V. Snyder, my editor Natashya Wilson, and all my fellow Tenners. Waiting for next year is going to be torture.

  1. Wish I had word for you from BEA. Me, a no-shower too. But there IS always next year. BTW, is that game our for all the gaming systems?

  3. So sorry that you weren't able to make it this year, but please be assured that I gushed about how much I love your books to your publisher!

This was my first time to BEA and I loved it! Only part I didn't like was that so many of my favorite authors were scheduled for signings at the same time, so I had to choose. Think I was most excited to meet Jeri Smith-Ready, although Rachel Vincent was a close second. :)

  4. Can't wait to read Winter's Passage! :)

I have been trying really hard not to be consumed by the green-eyed, I-missed-BEA monster these past few days. But just when I thought twitter might stop being so painfully filled w/BEA awesomeness, everyone started tweeting about the to-die-for books they are reading today (like Clockwork Angel & Matched & Delirium). *sulk* I seriously MUST attend BEA next year. Even if I have to walk the three thousand miles across the country to get there.

In the meantime, have fun lassoing wild horses & shooting those bandits down, and I will see you at next year's at BEA. ;)

  8. I've already begun looking up train tickets and hotel prices to estimate how much I need to save. The tweets were KILLING ME. But I am determined to go next year. Yay BEA 2011! :)

  9. AMEN to BEA. I sat here, all the way in Australia, wishing I could swim there if I had to! LOL :) There's a big horse festival in the USA I want to attend next year too...so maybe I can make a visit and go to both, that would be awesome! :D

Eagerly counting down the days until Winters Passage! :)

BEA was lovely, though I still strongly feel it would've been much more made of awesome if you had been there!

  15. It was crowded and kind of overwhelming, but there were a lot of great books to snag and people to see. Natashya is my editor, too, and I finally got to meet her after the crowds around the Harlequin Teen booth calmed down from the sightings. By then I was pretty exhausted but it was great to finally meet her!

  16. I just got Winter's Passage from Barnes and Noble! I'm so excited. But I'm waiting till tomorrow to read it! I'm too tired right now. They charged me for it, but it's worth $2.99 I'm sure. (I only mind if they change it later and don't give me my money back :P)

Anyway, thank you for writing this novella! I'm so happy to have something to tide me over until The Iron Daughter is released!
